Ensuring the health and well-being of our employees and guests is our most important priority.

The Fitzwilton Hotel are delighted to have completed Fáilte Ireland’s Infection Prevention Control for Tourism Businesses course showing our commitment to providing our team and customers with a safe space.

1. Are there any changes to check in or check out?

Our check in/check out time remains the same however, we will try our best to accommodate early check in requests to reduce wait times and accommodate travel schedules.

Sanitising stations will be provided at the main entrance.

Reception Desk counters will all have a sneeze guard screen in the location where Guests are checking in.

2. Will Valet Parking & Porterage Services be Offered?

No valet parking will be available initially. Porters will be able to assist with removing luggage from the car.

3. Do I need to wear a mask?

Face masks are no longer mandatory in Ireland from the 28th February 2022, however, we have advised all our staff that they may continue to wear a mask if that is their preference. We would therefore advise the same to all our Guests and shall leave you decide whether you choose to wear a mask. We have removed all Covid-19 guidance signage but we will continue to provide hand sanitisers in all key locations.

4. Are there any changes to my room?

Government and WHO guidelines for cleaning and sanitising guest rooms will be adhered to. Frequently touched areas will be thoroughly disinfected regularly during your stay. (i.e. telephones, remote controls, safes, switches, handles, taps etc)

Extra pillows are stored in pillow bags in guest room wardrobes. This also applies to cooling fans.

We will not be operating a mini bar service however all items will be available through room service including soft drinks, wine and spirits, snacks and treats

Tea and coffee making facilities will be available in the room

Rooms will only be cleaned on request. We will provide clean, towels, sheets, toiletries on request. This is to safeguard our team and guests.

5. What additional cleaning protocols are being introduced?

Industry leading cleaning and sanitising protocols are used to clean guest facilities, with particular attention paid to high-touch items including television remote controls, toilet seats and handles, door and furniture handles, taps, nightstands, telephones, in-room control panels, light switches, temperature control panels, alarm clocks, luggage racks and flooring.

6. Will there still be a buffet breakfast?

Buffet breakfasts will be available. Orders will however be taken for tea’s and coffees.

You will be required to book your breakfast time on check-in so that we can control any unnecessary queuing.

7. Will the restaurants and bars be open?

Yes, the restaurants and bars will be open. Buffet and table-side service will be limited, however, a delicious a la carte offering to include seasonal specials and signature dishes will be served as normal.

8. Will public bathrooms be in operation in bars/restaurant?

Yes, bathrooms will be open for use

9. Are you allowing Room Charging?

Guests should be advised that we are currently operating a 'Pay As You Go' service in the hotel to make check out more efficient and therefore minimise unnecessary queuing. Guests are not permitted to charge food or drinks to their room at this time. Tap and go is the preferred method of payment and there is also an ATM machine located off the Met Bar.

Q: Is there parking at the Fitzwilton Hotel?

Yes there is limited free parking which is available on a first come first served basis.

Q: How do I get to the Fitzwilton Hotel?

From the M9 – take the first exit at the roundabout at the end of the M9. Take second exit at next roundabout. At the following roundabout take the second exit onto the R448. Take up the inside lane, at the roundabout take the second exit so you will go across the bridge. At the traffic lights go straight onto Bridge St. You will see the hotel in front of you, take the first right and the carpark entrance is on the left.

From the N25 (eastbound) – after going through the toll bridge take the first exit/slip road. At the roundabout take the third exit. At the following roundabout take the second exit onto the R448. Take up the inside lane, at the roundabout take the second exit so you will go across the bridge. At the traffic lights go straight onto Bridge St. You will see the Fitzwilton Hotel in front of you on the right, take the first right and the carpark entrance is on the left.

Q: Where is the closest car park to the Fitzwilton Hotel?

The closest alternative parking is located on the quays just a minute walk from the hotel which is €4.60 overnight or in the Aldi multi-storey carpark just a 2 minute walk away further up Bridge Street.

Q: How far is the Fitzwilton Hotel from the train station?

The train station is a 2-3 minute walk approximately 300m right across the bridge.

Q: How far is the Fitzwilton Hotel from the bus station?

The main bus station in Waterford is approximately a 3-4 minute walk from the Fitzwilton Hotel. It is located on the quay about 500m from the Fitzwilton Hotel.

Q: How far is the Fitzwilton Hotel to the city centre?

The Fitzwilton Hotel is located in the city centre however it’s approximately a 5 minute stroll to the main shopping area.

Q: What time is check in?

Check in is at 4pm

Q: What time is last check out?

Last check out is at 12 noon.

Q: Is there a cancellation policy?

All rooms booked directly with the hotel either on the phone or on our website can be cancelled free of charge 24 hours before arrival unless your rate is a special offer which maybe non-refundable. Contact us on 051-846900.

Q: Can I arrange for amenities or gifts to be placed in the room? What do you offer?

We would be delighted to assist in adding to your stay with favours or gifts as best we can. So if you require a bubbly reception with nibbles or flowers and balloons, we can organise that for you with your agreed budget. Please call us on 051 846900 at least 24 hours prior to your arrival and we will be happy to assist.

Q: What type of room should I book for three adults?

Our triple rooms are best suited for 3 adults sharing. Offering 3 single beds and ample floor space also. Our twin rooms offer a double bed and single bed which, should 2 adults be willing to share, can prove more cost effective for you.

Q: Does the hotel provide international adaptors?

International adaptors are available for sale in the hotel vending machines.

Q: Do you offer hairdryers in your guestrooms?

Yes

Q: Do you provide coffee makers in your guestrooms?

Tea/Coffee facilities are available in all bedrooms.

Q: Do you provide irons and ironing boards for use during my stay?

Each of our bedrooms are equipped with Iron/Board facilities. We also offer a dry cleaning service offsite which can be arranged by contact our reception staff.

Q: Is the hotel air-conditioned?

The hotel is not airconditioned however each of our bedrooms is equipped with a fan.

Q: Can I watch sporting events on TV at the hotel?

The hotels Met Bar has 2 TV’s with a full package of SKY Sports, Virgin & Eir Sports. Select PPTV events are also shown (contact the hotel to confirm PPTV events being shown). Sports packages are not available on the bedroom TV’s.

Q: Is the hotel Non-Smoking?

Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the hotel including all bedroom areas and fines are imposed for breach of these regulations. Vaping is not allowed in public areas. There is a designated smoking area for guests to avail of outside of the Met Bar.

Q: Do you have family rooms?

Yes there are family rooms at the Fitzwilton Hotel and we also have interconnecting rooms

Q: Is smoking permitted in the rooms?

No smoking in the rooms is not permitted as we have a no smoking policy in all rooms.

The Met Bar Café serves casual food all day from 12noon to 9.30pm

Restaurant Chez K’s serves an a la carte menu with a wine & dine option available

Q: Are there conference facilities at Fitzwilton Hotel?

We can arrange meeting rooms from 2- 100 people.

Q: How many bedrooms does the Fitzwilton Hotel have?

There are 90 bedrooms including one penthouse suite

Q: What time is breakfast served until?

Monday to Friday breakfast is served from 7am to 10am.

On Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays breakfast is served from 8am to 10.30am

Q: What time is breakfast served in the room?

Monday to Friday 7am to 10am and Saturday and Sunday 8am to 10.30am

Q: What time is food served until?

Food is served in the Met Bar Café from 12noon to 9.30pm 7 days a week.

Q: Is the restaurant at the Fitzwilton Hotel open?

The menu is available every night from 12pm to 9.30pm

LEISURE FACILITIES

Q: Are you close to the Waterford Greenway?

We are ideally located a mere 5 minutes bike ride to the start of the Waterford Greenway. You can contact us on 051 846900 and we will be happy to arrange bike hire facilities for you. If you are bringing your own bicycle(s) we have secure bike storage facilities available for you also.

Q: What facilities are within walking distance of the hotel?

Q: Do you have gym / leisure?

No we do not have a gym or leisure centre onsite.

Q: Where is the Viking Triangle?

The Viking Triangle is approximately a 10 minute walk from the hotel just past City Square Shopping Centre.

Q: How far is Waterford Crystal from the Fitzwilton Hotel?

Waterford Crystal is a 10 minute stroll down along the quay to the Fitzwilton Hotel.

Q: What is the closest golf course to the Fitzwilton Hotel?

The closest golf course is Waterford Golf Club which is a 5 minute drive.

Q: Is there a pharmacy close by?

The closest pharmacy / chemist is 5 a minute walk in either the town centre or in Ballybricken however Aldi is a 2 minute walk away and they sell toiletries.

Q: Are you open Christmas Day?

No, the Fitzwilton Hotel is not open Christmas Day or St Stephen’s Day.
